Mission & Vision
Our Vision
Medi-CaSE envisions a Mediterranean region united against cancer — a community where collaboration transcends borders, and where every individual, regardless of geography, gender, or socioeconomic background, can benefit from effective, high-quality, and sustainable cancer prevention services.
The network seeks to bridge inequalities between countries, transforming diversity into strength.
By connecting expertise, sharing knowledge, and promoting solidarity among Mediterranean nations, Medi-CaSE aims to build a region where early detection and timely intervention are part of an equitable and resilient health system — reducing the burden of cancer and improving the quality of life for all.
Our Mission
The Mediterranean Cancer Screening and Early Diagnosis Network (Medi-CaSE) works to enhance the prevention, early diagnosis, and screening of breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers across the Mediterranean area.
Through cooperation, research, and capacity building, Medi-CaSE contributes to a future where cancer prevention is guided by innovation, inclusiveness, and evidence-based practice.
Medi-CaSE pursues this mission by
Building an inclusive, multidisciplinary network that connects researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from all Mediterranean countries, fostering dialogue and shared commitment to cancer control.
Collecting and disseminating best practices and evidence-based approaches to strengthen national cancer prevention programmes and inform public health policies.
Empowering young professionals and researchers, offering mentorship, training, and mobility opportunities to build local and regional expertise in cancer prevention.
Promoting equity, sustainability, and gender balance in all activities, ensuring that no community or professional group is left behind.
Encouraging innovation and collaboration, leveraging new technologies, data systems, and culturally adapted strategies to enhance screening participation and health awareness.
Together, these actions form the foundation of a coordinated Mediterranean effort to reduce cancer inequalities, promote early detection, and save lives through shared knowledge and cooperation.
