The COST Action Medi-CaSE – Mediterranean Cancer Screening and Early Diagnosis Network – will hold its Annual Meeting in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 20 to 22 May 2026 at Istanbul Kent University. The event, titled “Mapping Our Journey – Achievements and Next Steps”, will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean region to discuss the future of cancer screening and early diagnosis.
The three-day programme will focus on key topics such as cancer screening implementation, innovation in screening pathways, artificial intelligence, self-sampling in cervical cancer screening, professional training, stakeholder engagement, and strategies to improve participation in screening programmes, particularly among vulnerable populations.
Working Groups will present updates on ongoing activities and collaborative initiatives, while country experiences from across the Mediterranean region will provide insights into challenges and best practices in cancer prevention and secondary prevention.
The meeting will also offer opportunities for networking, capacity building, and discussion on the future strategic direction of the Medi-CaSE Action, reinforcing the network’s commitment to strengthening equitable access to cancer screening and early diagnosis across the Mediterranean area.
